Children's dentistry

The first visit comes early, around the first teeth or in any case by age three. It's for getting to know each other without rushing and for prevention, not for hurried treatment.

Baby teeth need treatment: they're for chewing, speaking and keeping space for the adult teeth. A neglected cavity in a baby tooth can hurt and complicate everything else.

What we do

  • First visit and check-ups, with parents close by.
  • Prevention and brushing advice suited to your child's age.
  • Treatment of cavities in baby teeth and first adult teeth.
  • A calm path for children who are scared.

How it works

  1. The first time is mostly about making friends: looking, touching, trying the chair.
  2. We explain what we see to you and to your child, in their words.
  3. If treatment is needed, we go one step at a time.
  4. At home there's the valley, the games and the toothbrush timer.

Who looks after you

Dr Francesco Di Gioia
Clinical director

Francesco graduated in Florence and trained in paediatric dentistry at the university and at Meyer Children's Hospital.

What it costs

It depends on what you need, and you know before we start: after the visit you get a written estimate, item by item. If there's more than one option, you get them all, each with its cost.

Parents' questions

At what age should my child have their first visit?

The first visit comes early, around the first teeth or in any case by age three: it’s for getting to know each other without any rush and for prevention, not for hurried treatment.

Do baby teeth really need treatment?

Yes. They matter for chewing, speaking and keeping space for the adult teeth. A neglected cavity in a baby tooth can hurt and complicate everything else.

My child is scared. How do you handle it?

With calm and time. The first visit is almost always just about making friends. That’s why we built a world to play in: trust comes before the chair.
